Materials for Lessons
Instruments:
Instruments are available for rent for $30 per month, which includes a violin, bow, case, and rosin. There is a $100 deposit per instrument. Anything broken, lost, or damaged during the rental period will be deducted from your deposit. If the deposit is not enough to cover the damage or loss, additional funds may be required. I recommend renting a violin until you are sure about your child’s commitment. After it is more certain your child will stick with the instrument, I recommend purchasing an instrument from a music store. If you choose to purchase an instrument through me, I will deduct your total previous rental fees from the total instrument price up to 50%.
Textbooks (*recommended to purchase online, but not required):
Suzuki Method, Revised Violin Volume 1 (Book & CD)—Hilary Hahn recording
Step by Step, Volume 1A (Book & CD)—Kerstin Wartberg
I Can Read Music for Violin, Volume 1—Joanne Martin
