Erika Miller
Erika Miller has been playing violin for 14 years and teaching for 4 years. She has taken teacher training courses with the Suzuki Music Institute and has passed the audition tapes to teach all levels of Suzuki Violin. Erika has taught students ranging from 5-50 years old from beginner levels to intermediate/advanced levels. (She also speaks Mandarin and Japanese!)
Erika has taken classes at the Juilliard School and has also attended competitive institutions such as at the Interlochen Center for the Arts and the Meadowmount School of Music. Her mentors include renowned musicians: Dr. Carlo Malanima of Teatro Carlo Felice Orchestra and Professor Kikuei Ikeda of the Tokyo String Quartet (retired Yale faculty). Erika has won state competitions such as the Osaka International Music Competition in the solo violin and quartet divisions, winning the opportunity to represent Hawaii in the finals in Osaka. She was also invited to perform at the Japanese Consulate. |
